Katamari <3

Katamari <3 is all about craziness. I sketched this pic on the train in my noteback and it exploded into this! In the beginning, his father, the king, was in the background but I was suddenly hungry and thought of sushi and shashimi. One thought lead to another and salmon started appearing on the computer screen! It was quite magical and quite the Katamari style.

I made this using Photoshop's preserve transparency tool. I've seen a lot of people use it but was never sure what to do once I turned that function on. It's great though and lends itself well to lineless coloring. I shall try it again sometime with real humans.
