Resonance is a an experimental book project that takes two separate stories/concepts and creates a bridge between them that would not normally be seen. This book is also experimental in the way that the viewer interacts with it. The book is bound on two sides, allowing the reader to follow two stories untangle at the same time.
The idea behind this book is inspiration. In order to demonstrate this, I created two parallel stories, one side is of a drawing being created from scratch while the other side is about a girl journeying to find herself within herself. As the drawing is being completed on one side, the girl is also coming into her own in her own right.
Here are some snazzy images below to demonstrate!

This is the cover for the book. I spiral bound both sides so that the two stories can open up at the same time. The main character is also shown on the cover. Having her shown also serves the purpose of informing which way is up for the reader to start opening it up.

Here's a close up on the cover. I took this pic to show that I cut open the cover to reveal the girl. In doing this, I thought it added dimension to the piece. And it took forever to make those cuts straight with the xacto knife!

As you open up the first flap, the title page is revealed.

As you open the other flap, the beginning of a drawing also begins. The drawing side of this was printed on transparency paper to give the book a different texture as well as imply animation techniques.

Here is a closeup of the transparency. Do you see the spiral boundedness through the transparency??? Cool beans!

The story also begins on the pages opposite the transparencies. Here is page 1 and page 5.
